Dh150 billion invested in 19 years to build world-class transport network
DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, today attended part of the ‘Connecting Bridges’ workshop, a landmark event hosted by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The initiative brought together 50 public and private sector entities, including real estate developers, and over 100 consultants, engineers, and industry experts. It showcased the power of collaboration in shaping the emirate’s future-ready infrastructure.
“Today, I attended part of the ‘Connecting Bridges’ workshop, organised by the Roads and Transport Authority,” said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “The event brought together 50 public and private sector entities, real estate developers, and over 100 consultants, experts, and engineers – a strong reflection of Dubai’s collaborative spirit.”

The workshop underscored the role of strategic partnerships in redefining Dubai’s transport and mobility landscape. With the city’s rapid growth, the RTA presented an ambitious outlook, revealing future-forward projects designed to enhance integration, efficiency, and accessibility.
The Crown Prince added, “The workshop underscored the critical role of partnership in shaping the future of our roads, mobility, and transport infrastructure – key enablers of economic growth and sustainable urban development.”
Investment in infrastructure
Over the past 19 years, Dubai has allocated Dh150 billion towards the development of its transport and road network. This substantial investment reflects a long-standing commitment to excellence.
“Our goal is to deliver the world’s best infrastructure,” said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “We recognise the challenges in this vital sector, particularly traffic density and congestion, and remain firmly committed to pioneering solutions that drive growth, improve efficiency, and enhance quality of life in Dubai.”
